if you have resized the photo of it on the computer and made it about screen size the quality of the pic would be quadrupled, an when you take pictures of your paintings, do it in strong natural light, or it wont have the same tonal range that the painting its self does
how does picture compare to the actual painting? (lighting wise) is it darker? meh ill shut up now, im being distracted

the colours that came out on devART are actually pretty similar to those of the actual painting... if slightly lighter. i took the photo in my conservatory... so i hope it came out with enough 'natural lighting'!
as for the other thingy majiggy that you mentioned - about resizing and stuff - well... i wont pretend that im a computer know-it-all and say that i know what youre on about
